Who it is for

People ops, procurement, and engagement managers who coordinate contractor starts in Germany—and need a shared language with counsel without waiting for every memo to be rewritten.

Self-paced modules · two live clinics · informational price from €890 per seat (Onboarding Studio pathway)

Learning outcomes

  • Identify early Scheinselbstständigkeit signals in draft SOWs
  • Assemble a Germany-ready documentation pack
  • Assign day-one owners without employee-like rituals
  • Escalate novel roles with a clear question set for counsel
  • Adapt HQ templates that were written for other jurisdictions
  • Run a mock onboarding file through facilitator critique

Modules

Each module includes a short briefing, annotated examples, and a practice task.

  1. 01

    Engagement anatomy in Germany

How contractor relationships differ from employment in practice—and why onboarding is where misunderstandings surface.

  2. 02

    Status questionnaires before the SOW

A structured set of questions hiring managers can complete without legal training, with escalation thresholds.

  3. 03

    Documentation packs and annexes

Identity, insurance, substitution, and deliverable ownership—what belongs in the file before systems access is granted.

  4. 04

    Day-one rituals that create risk

Stand-ups, tool stacks, and holiday messaging: how well-meant inclusion can look like integration under scrutiny.

  5. 05

    Stakeholder handoffs

Mapping finance, legal, IT, and people ops so each group knows what they own in the first two weeks.

  6. 06

Clinic: critique a mock onboarding file

Bring an anonymised pack; receive written facilitator notes and peer comparison.

FAQ

Does this course replace legal advice?

No. It prepares your team to organise facts and questions for counsel. Nexusdevplatform does not act as your Rechtsanwalt and does not certify that an engagement is compliant.

What is a real limitation of the programme?

We do not cover works-council consultation sequencing in depth, nor do we teach tax filing for contractors. Participants who need those tracks should arrange separate specialists; trying to stretch this curriculum into those areas would dilute the onboarding focus.

Are materials available in German?

Live clinics can be run in German on request. Core written materials are currently English; bilingual packs are on our roadmap for retained clients first.

How much time should we block?

Plan roughly six hours of self-paced study plus two 75-minute clinics across three to five weeks.

Participant notes

“Module 4 changed how we invite contractors to Slack channels. Small change, fewer counsel emails.”

“Useful file critique. I still needed our external lawyer for a creative-industry edge case the curriculum flags as out of scope—which was honestly a fair limitation.”
